Dr. Sheila Sweeney
Sheila Sweeney is an African-American Clinical Social Worker, trained in psychodynamic therapy with a focus in Mind, Body, and Spirit connection. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work with a minor in Criminal Justice from the College of St. Catherine; a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of St. Thomas and the College of St. Catherine; a PhD in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from the Institute of Clinical Social Work; and a certificate in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health from the University of Minnesota.
Sheila has experience working with Hennepin County Behavioral Health Services; Saint Paul Public Schools; and has worked on a collaboration project with The Department of Education and The University of Minnesota around disproportionate representation of African-American students in special educational programs. She has contracted with multiple private agencies to deliver reputable services such as workshops, seminars, counseling and informational sessions.
